Not many so far. If you're planning to come bring some friends.
Remember if we get 20 people turning up there will be door prizes of a Z-Board Keyboard and a Counterstrike Keyset for the Z-Board.
If only two people turn up by 2pm we will have to find someone with a shed to hold the LAN's as the committee cannot keep shouldering the cost of the hall.
If we can continually get 20 or more then door prizes will be a regular feature as we are not in this for the money. Any extra we get over the cost of the hall will be going back into equipment to run it and prizes.
PS: As there are no more ASLAN this year the pickings for LAN's in the northern suburbs are starting to look thin so support your local LAN.

which is strange seeing how i informed the "committee" of several forums where they could advertise to get possible attendees

Why are you trying to put down a LAN that you are on the committee of?

Hey Spark, when are you planning to notify whether the Eureka LAN this weekend is cancelled or not? DJ_HiP wrote:spark64 wrote:PS: As there are no more ASLAN this year the pickings for LAN's in the northern suburbs are starting to look thin so support your local LAN.

Is that LAN going ahead because at the last ASLAN, Rids said at the closing ceremony that the admin were unable to book the centre again before the end of the year.

Eureka LAN is going ahead with the October 24th LAN despite a number of putdowns from sources I'm not naming. We are determined to get some sort of LANing going in the north. If attendance doesn't make it up to double digits we will have to find a shed somewhere.

Let see.
ASLAN - 5 maybe 6 LANs a year
Ignite LAN - Run by religious people.
One in the Barossa - too far.
Terra's video & LAN night in his shed. If ASLAN decides whether it's on or not I may go.
Phlanx - haven't heard much about it except it has low attendance too.
Anything else?
If someone actually bothered to come to Eureka when they said they were or help promote instead of well...
Is anyone interested in really helping to get the LAN going? I don't mean just setting up tables. The hall we have is Air-conditioned and has a heater if it gets hot or cold and it has a kitchen if attendance warrants cooking food.

OK.. the first response I dont get.... I havent been to Ignite before but know some of the guys that run it... its run at a church, but its not as if they only let people in that are of a certain faith, I'm not religious but wouldnt have any issues attending if it wasnt a billion miles away As to phlanx, Outcast closed that down a couple months ago going by the website.

theres also zeal at golden grove, which is more of a youth group scenario, plus i think theres a lan run by a group associated with salisbury council, but im awaiting more details at the moment.
There was a time when the only lans in the northern suburbs were the ones run by the salvos youth arms. Inlan is run as an offshoot of Blackwoods Uniting chruch I think, and Streetgeek claims its associated with the Colonel Light Gardens church of christ. When it comes down to it, the lan community benefits a fair amount from church largesse.

Due to another admin having a family emergency we are rescheduling this Saturdays LAN to the 14th November.
Now that you have another three weeks to make a booking please do so.

I'm not following how this was relevant to my post though. spark asked me to bring some friends if I was planning to go, 95% of the friends I see socially aren't or wouldn't be interested in lanning, the remainder read this forum anyway.
