I personally attribute this end to an era to the removal of the Cars and Sports forums. If there is one thing that draws computer nerds, it is Cars and Sports discussions.

So what will be of the website?

We will keep it going for another year or so, at least in some form or other. It was in dire need of work to get it back up to scratch if we weren't finishing up... As an example, currently unless people manually email the committee, registrations do not get accepted, which is probably a fair cause as to why its become so quiet here.

Never fear, as Wookie mentioned there is ASLAN at hillcrest and of course LANmineSA in the Barossa!

Next LAN is November 26th, the week before the final Valhalla - so if you want a taste of country LANing, come for a drive!

Will be sad to see the end of Valhalla. It really set the benchmark in Adelaide for LAN parties. I have not been to one in a loooong time but i was a regular starting way back in 1999 when it was still under 100 people at City West through to hitting the 500+ mark at St Clair.

Many fond memories, including some shocking BO, almost winning one of the joke competitions and trying to sleep under a table on the floor during the first overnight Valhalla at St Clair.

Congratulations to current and past admins who have kept Valhalla going for so many years when many other public LANS have come and gone.

Hmm I could really go for this. Give all the haters one last chance to get a real shot at me lol. Better not tell the exwife she'll book all the tickets herself.

As for the forums, theres going to be some streamlining, and while we did intend to keep these forums open for another 12 months, current traffic rates simply dont justify that. Im not sure why the cars forum was moved though lol.

last time I checked there are no "formal" comps

CSS will run its normal time - at 7pm
SC2 will run from 1pm
Most other events will be pretty adhoc on the day, but will include the opportunity to throw water bombs at Wookie at some point.

Check the smashboards forums or facebook for Smash event times
Door prizes will be drawn from 6pm if available.
