Valhalla is on the air!

From the July LAN onwards, we've added another network connection method - 802.11 wireless ethernet. This is not intended to replace the wired connections and you will still be allocated a 10/100 port as part of your admission cost – the presence of wireless is simply a bonus. Given the occasional vagueness of wireless connectivity, we recommend you still use the wired links, but the AP will be available for those who wish to make use of it.

The SSID will be obvious (and broadcast) and network security variable based on whatever is required. For this first lan at least it will be nonexistant

As part of this coming Valhalla one lucky person will have the opportunity to win a Razer Diamondback 3G Gaming Mouse (as pictured above, although in this case a Flame red, not the blue in the image). In order to win this, you will be randomly drawn from the attendees, and cover yourself in razer temporary tattoos. The person with the most tattoos in the shortest period of time will win the mouse.

Retirements

Its with some sorrow that I must announce my retirement from Valhalla, and also acknowledge the previous departure of our President, Trent Hill. We both depart for personal reasons, albeit wildly differing ones lol.

It has been a privelige to be involved in this organisation since 2003, and I'd like to thank all of those involved who have helped me out and offered advice for the last few years. In particular the sponsors and admins that have helped through Reloaded, and Valhalla and the original BFO mess, which led to ULP.

I'd like to take the time to thank the current committee - including CommanderEl who replaced Mountaineer, and TheWedgie who is replacing me, for their assistance and dedication over the last two years. I'd like to thank the current and former admins and committee who have and continue to help at valhalla.

Finally, thanks to all the Lanners who continue to attend after all these years.

This will take effect immediately. Moderation and LAN duties will cease as of tonight.

July 12th LAN Information!

Tickets will be on sale from Monday from Gamequest and Engineering IT and other outlets during the week. Some issues have arisen with our northern sales outlet, and we are working these out over the next few days.
